Mindfulness CoP: Walking Meditation and Picnic In-Person
Bring a bagged lunch and join us in a walking meditation across campus where we’ll connect with our breath, environment, and each other. At the end of the walk, we will eat our lunches together while discussing ways to bring this mindful focus and attentiveness to our teaching. Rain backup: walking meditation in the T4LC.
1. Develop sensory awareness and presence through walking mediation as a mindful practice.
2. Explore walking meditation as a tool for stress reduction and mental clarity that can be integrated into daily life
3. Reflect on the role of mindfulness in teaching, exploring how presence, intentionality, and emotional regulation can enhance classroom experiences.
4. Identify practical strategies for integrating mindful practices into daily teaching routines to support both educator and student well-being.
5. Foster community and shared reflection among educators through open discussion and collaborative learning.
