Mindfulness CoP: Mindful Art In-Person

Join us for a session on Mindful Art with Dr. Linda Helmick where she will lead us through slowing down and allowing space to spontaneously create and play with coloring, collaging, and more. This practice fosters presence and awareness, helping to quiet the mind and cultivate a deeper connection to the moment—paralleling the focus and attentiveness we aim to bring to teaching, which we will reflect on at the end of the session.

1. Develop sensory awareness and presence through guided art making as a mindful practice
2. Reflect on the role of mindfulness in teaching, exploring how presence, intentionality, and emotional regulation can enhance classroom experiences.
3. Identify practical strategies for integrating mindful practices into daily teaching routines to support both educator and student well-being.
4. Foster community and shared reflection among educators through open discussion and collaborative learning.
