Mindfulness CoP: Wind Down with Yoga Nidra & Stroll to Social Hour In-Person

Join Dr. Brandi Schumacher in Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation practice that leads you into a state of deep relaxation between wakefulness and sleep. Please feel free to bring a yoga mat as we will be lying down on the floor. After, we will discuss how such practices are beneficial for our wellness as educators and celebrate the end of the semester by walking to a Social Hour for drinks together (location TBD).

1. Experience deep physical and mental relaxation through guided yogic sleep techniques which increases awareness of body sensations and breath to cultivate a calm, centered state of mind and supports stress reduction and emotional balance.
2. Enhance self-awareness and inner focus by exploring visualization and intention-setting during the practice.
3. Enhance skills for fostering a supportive learning atmosphere that benefits both educators and students, which includes building resilience and self-care strategies to sustain well-being and prevent burnout over time.
4. Foster community and shared reflection among educators through open discussion and collaborative learning.
