Teaching for All Learners Asynchronous Course In-Person
Unlock the compelling practices of effective teaching in our new online asynchronous course, Teaching for All Learners. Dive into the foundational principles of learning science and discover how to translate these insights into concrete instructional strategies. This course emphasizes evidence-based, student-centered instruction, ensuring that you can engage everyone in your class, whether in large lectures, small seminars, online classes, or hands-on labs. By the end, you'll be equipped with actionable teaching practices that align with MU’s Model of Teaching for Learning Effectiveness, empowering all students to thrive.
Please Note: This is an 8-week, fully online asynchronous learning experience. The course runs from September 8 - October 31, 2025. Weekly target deadlines help everyone stay together and on track, but course-takers may complete activities whenever it suits their schedule, likely around 2 - 3 hours each week.

To enroll in this course, applicants must be Full-Time MU Faculty
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Connect with and learn from a network of MU colleagues dedicated to effective teaching for all students.
2. Apply key findings from the science of learning to plan and teach engaging courses.
3. Identify teaching strategies for varied students’ differing approaches to learning.
4. Discuss how to leverage student learning data and feedback to reflect on and improve teaching effectiveness.
5. Begin to develop a plan that aligns learning outcomes, activities and assessments, and instructional strategies.
6. Notice and reflect on your enjoyment of the learning experience throughout the course.
