Curricular Innovation Idea Exchange with MU AI Teaching Fellows In-Person

As AI becomes part of everyday academic and professional life, curricula can evolve to help students engage thoughtfully with these tools and prepare for emerging practices in their fields. This interactive session invites MU AI Teaching Fellows to share how they may be beginning these conversations in their own disciplines. Together, we will consider different approaches—from discipline-specific outcomes that explicitly name AI competencies, to integrated models where AI knowledge is embedded as part of broader program outcomes. Participants will reflect on the urgency and stakes for curricular innovation in their fields, explore strategies suited to their contexts, and identify mechanisms and supports that can help move conversations forward in their departments and colleges.

Participants will:

1. Reflect on the urgency and implications of curricular change in their discipline in response to AI’s influence.
2. Compare discipline-specific and integrated approaches for embedding AI critical literacy and skills into program-level outcomes.
3.Identify existing mechanisms and supports within their departments/colleges to initiate and sustain curricular innovation around AI.
