Introduction to Assessment and Feedback Online
This brief session is an introduction to the broad (and sometimes daunting) topic of assessment and feedback. We’ll discuss how to design assessments that align with learning objectives and give diverse students multiple ways to demonstrate their learning throughout the course. We’ll also review various strategies for giving feedback that supports student improvement by being specific, timely, and actionable. Finally, we’ll round out our time together by considering how to use assessment results to guide our teaching.
